Please try our updated ESGF web application (named "Metagrid"), now undergoing beta testing. For this test release we are reaching out for help from users in the community to report any issues they encounter with the application. The beta-test web application can be found at the following site: https://aims2.llnl.gov/metagrid/
Please see the following page for more information including a FAQ:https://esgf.github.io/esgf-user-support/metagrid.html
The Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) maintains a global system of federated data centers that allow access to the largest archive of model climate data world-wide. ESGF portals like this one provide access to the output of the climate models contributing to the next assessment report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change IPCC through the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project . The is the official CMIP document home. See a CMIP intro video here.This portal is an interface for users to access model data that are distributed in several data centers, also called data nodes. The portal itself does not host any data. This is the portal hosted by the German Climate Computing Centre (DKRZ).
|New server side processing capabilities|
Tired of downloading tons of model data? Would you like free computing resources to analise CMIP big data?
The infrastructure of the European part of ESGF is coordinated within the IS-ENES project and new services are developed to provide users with server-side processing capabilities. It means your analyses can be performed near the data at the IS-ENES HPC centers to avoid the heavy data download of raw model data. Our new server-side services:
|Search Data||User help and related links|
If you do not find want you are looking for, enable 'Show All Replicas' in the faceted search engine to increase the chances of finding a suitable federated node in the grid that hosts the data of your interest. Please, visit the Data Nodes Status to find the nodes that are down.
Learn the full capabilities of the ESGF service by visiting the User Tutorial and FAQs.
Find the model documentation at the Earth System Documentation ES-DOC portal. As part of the ES-DOC ecosystem, the Errata Service centralizes timely information about known issues of ESGF data. Look up an issue here. If the errata you found is not there, please write to the modelling group, the contact information is in the header of the NetCDF file. For CMIP6 data, click on "Show Citation" when finding the data in the faceted search.
For data management issues, please write the following to the firstname.lastname@example.org emailing list:
- Your browser and operating system, e.g. Firefox 68.0.2 on Ubuntu 18.04
- Your OpenID
- The complete name of the file(s) or data set(s) you attempt to download
- The host node, for instance, esgf-index1.ceda.ac.uk, esgf-node.llnl.gov,...
- The steps required to reproduce the problem
- The exact error message. Run the script in debug mode to get a detailed error message: $ bash wget-xxx.sh -H -d
